We also list below some mistakes that travelers usually make. You should learn about that to avoid the same problem with your entry, especially during Vietnamese public holidays:
1. A misconception that Vietnam visa on arrival is issued directly at arrival airport without any prepared
paperwork:
Many people thought that Vietnam visa on arrival can be applied and issued directly at arrival airport. That is not true! You must be approved by the Vietnam Immigration Department prior to arriving the country. You may end up with delaying
or canceling your flights or waiting at the airport until the visa is approved or even if you can get board, you
will be expelled once you land on Vietnam.
- How to sort it out: You should apply your Vietnam visa early to get an approval letter issued by the Vietnam Immigration Department 1 or 2 days before entering Vietnam. In case you are stuck at the airport without visa approval letter, please contact us urgently.
2. A misconception that visa on arrival can be used for land border crossing:
Visa on arrival is the easiest and cheapest way to get visa to Vietnam. Despite of its convenience, visa on arrival can be picked up at arrival airport only. Therefore, you couldn't use visa on arrival in case you enter Vietnam via border gate on land.
- How to sort it out: You should apply for a visa at the Vietnam Embassy or Consulate in the countries where you are living or residing in advance.
3. Visa validity:
Many people thought that their visa validity will start from the date of entry, not from the date issued in the letter of approval. However, it is not correct. The visa validity will start from the date
said in the letter, not from the actual date of entry. Thus, you can
NOT arrive in Vietnam before that permission date.
- How to sort it out: You should make a well planned trip with specific date of entry and exit. The actual date of entry must be
same or behind the date issued in the approval letter. Giving your proposed entry date ahead of your actual entry date might be helpful in case you haven't got a well planned
itinerary.
4. Typo mistakes
It should be noticed that, the information you submitted must be exact as it appears on your passport. One character missing or excess or a wrong entered passport number will make your visa approval letter no longer valid.
- How to sort it out: You should check the visa information carefully once you receive the approval letter via email. If there is
a mistake, you'll need to contact with the visa agency to amend it as soon as possible. Sometime, you have just
learned about it when you are about to board the flight. Obviously, you have no time to amend the visa approval letter and your entry might be not accepted
by the Vietnam Immigration Officers. In this case, we can assist to pick you up, work with the Immigration Officers
to solve the problems until having your visa stamped on the passport. Learn more about
